Medicare Supplements

Senior Insurance plans are all specifically designed to protect or defend the senior's assets. All senior's number one concern is not having enough income to be totally self sufficient for the remainder of their lives. Seniors spend their entire life building their assets and just one catastrophic event can wipe it all away. Please pay close attention to the financial strategies we are going to discuss: Medicare Supplements, Medicare Part D, Long Term Care, Final Expense Insurance, and Fixed Annuities.

Medicare Supplements are designed to bridge the gap between what Medicare actually pays on approved charges and what you have to pay from your pocket. There are two basic types of Medicare Supplements: issue age and attained age. There are many standardized Government approved options from Plan A through Plan L with two high deductible options as well. All persons turning 65 who have met the eligibility qualifications may sign up 90 days prior to the month that they turn 65.

In Texas, Plan A Medicare Supplements are available to under age 65 individuals who are Social Security disabled. An under age 65 social security disabled individual must apply for a medicare supplement Plan A within 6 months of becoming eligible for medicare or he/she loses his opportunity until he/she is turning 65.

We personally offer both attained age and issue age plans. In our 26 years of experience, issue age plans are by far the best for the long haul. Attained age plans start out inexpensively, but as time goes by, the rates go up, up, up with every passing year. In an issue age plan the cost that you pay at your age 65 will be exactly the same that 65 year olds are paying 20 years later. The cost is higher in the beginning, but it is much more affordable for the long term. The problem with getting into a good looking, inexpensive plan to begin with and then having your health take a bad turn at the same time is a serious problem to face. The ability to "move around" to a cheaper plan is over. It would be wise for you to seek out the services of a Certified Senior Advisor. This is an actual designation earned by these highly trained professionals. There are too many agents seeking good for themselves and not for you. Your local agent who lives in the community and must answer to you directly is a good place to start. Beware of high pressure out of town agents. They are skilled at telling a wonderful story, but stories are only as good as the ones telling them. Please know your storyteller!
