What is a PPO health plan?


A PPO health plan refers to a "Preferred Provider Organization" which is usually a large group of MD's, hospitals, and other medical providers, who have contracted with an insurance company such as BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. The big advantage to the policy owner is that he/she receives the same savings ratio that the insurance company receives.
