Frequently Asked Questions

What is dividend paying whole life insurance?

A guaranteed whole life dividend paying policy is normally sold by a Mutual Life Insurance Company such as New York Life, Northwestern Mutual, or Mutual Trust Life. The insurance company pays dividends to the policy owners each year that dividends are declared. Diviends, when received, are not taxable because by law they are considered a return of premium. A mutual life insurance company is not reported on any of the stock exchanges since it has no ordinary stockholders. The policy holders of a mutual life insurance company are the stockholders.
