Which companies are the best rated and the most experienced in long term care insurance?
There are several very experienced companies marketing long term care coverage, but none are even close to G.E. (Genworth) in experience. GE has a wonderful track record of very stable rates and excellent claims paying history. Three other very fine companies that have not gone out and bought business and also have a wonderful and strong record are Met Life, John Hancock, and Physicians Mutual. These four companies have approached long term care in the absolutely correct way. Their policy holders can rest assured that they will be there for the long, long term. Be very cautious of a company that offers a premium that is too good to be true.
